Every year, we organize student programs to connect with new talents and introduce them to Cupole. One of our programs is an internship. Instead of explaining what our internship is about, we interviewed Gustav who’s been an intern with us during the autumn of 2024.
Gustav is currently a fourth-year Industrial Engineering and Management student at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology). He describes himself as someone who has a big interest in how society works, a love for sports, and, according to him, a slightly odd taste in music and food.
Hey Gustav! How would you describe your time at Cupole?
My last few weeks have been intense but incredibly fun. I’ve had the chance to meet tons of interesting people who are all super driven, intelligent, and love what they do. It’s truly been a pleasure to learn and work alongside them. Honestly, just joking around and laughing together has probably been the biggest highlight.
What did you do during the internship?
During my internship, I’ve had the opportunity to try various tasks. I worked on a longer market study and growth strategy project, as well as two smaller projects. My responsibilities included gathering and analyzing data, building Excel models, preparing presentation materials, and actively participating in problem-solving discussions. Besides project-related matters, I also somehow won a cooking competition, tried breathwork for the first time, and got thoroughly beaten in tennis
Why did you apply for the internship at Cupole?
I’ve always wanted to try consulting because I love working in teams, enjoy solving problems, and find it fascinating to see how companies operate and interact with their stakeholders. Doing it at Cupole felt like the perfect fit, as every interaction I’d had with them beforehand was so positive. On top of that, the connection to Eidra was particularly exciting. Bringing together so many talented people from different areas of expertise and leveraging their skills to provide solutions for clients is truly unique and, in my opinion, really differentiates Cupole from other management consulting firms.
Was there anything that stood out during your time as an intern?
The thing that stood out the most was the amazing culture. Everyone at Cupole is so welcoming and warm, which made me feel at home from day one. People genuinely care about your well-being, and you always have someone to talk to. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much my voice mattered as an intern. I truly felt like my opinions and suggestions in meetings were taken seriously and valued just as much as the rest of the group’s ideas.
Why would you recommend other students to do an internship with Cupole?
I would absolutely recommend an internship at Cupole because you’ll learn a lot, meet incredible people, and have so much fun along the way. Since you’re actively involved in the projects, you also get a real sense of what it’s like to be a management consultant—something I really value as a student still figuring out what to do after graduation. So, if you enjoy collaborating with others and have a curious and open mind for learning, don’t hesitate to apply!
Thank you, Gustav! We hope this short interview gave you a better idea of what you can expect from an internship at Cupole – stay tuned for upcoming opportunities within Cupole at Cupole.se/join
