At Cupole, we’re a collective of great minds and big hearts. But instead of keeping that for ourselves, we want to give you a chance to read some more about our people and what they have to say about themselves and Cupole.
Let’s get to know a Cupolean!
Hi Johanna, what’s up?
All good! I just got back from our first week at Cupole Academy, feeling better than ever.
You’ve just started your first ‘real’ job as a management consultant – what are your impressions so far?
This is FUN! And fits me really well. It’s a demanding profession for sure, but I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. Being a part of a team, solving issues and working together to create real value makes it fun and worth putting in some hours to it.
You’re part of our post-graduate-program Cupole Academy, would you care to describe the advantages of being part of a program and not just being shipped into a project your first day?
I would like to highlight three things; firstly, the program gives you buddies who’re in the same boat as you which is comforting & makes everything a bit more fun. Secondly, you create a solid base of tools that enable you to contribute and create value even in your first project. Thirdly, it helps Cupole ensure that all consultants start at the same skill and knowledge level.
Why did you take an interest in Cupole in the first place?
Because it felt genuine and friendly from the first time I came in contact with Cupole. Also, because there are a lot of skiers here, and you can trust skiers. They are fun and awesome.
Last year, what was going through your mind when you were applying to join us (and other firms)? What was your strategy and how did you feel during the whole recruitment process?
There was no bullshit, I felt that you didn’t try to ”sell” Cupole but was rather honest with what’s expected when you go through the recruitment process AND what’s expected from you as an employee at Cupole. You were also personal and flexible in a way I haven’t encountered before.
Ok, now let’s get to know you a little bit better in person. We’ve made a take on the Proust-questionnaire* to get to the core of who Johanna really is (it’s really not that intense, have fun with it):
1. What is your take on success?
To be happy, challenged and a bit scared.
2. What living person inspires you on a regular basis?
Santa & my grandmother.
3. What word do you overuse?
Lol.
4. You have 8 weeks of holidays; how do you spend it?
Skiing!!
5. What is your most commonly used emoji?
🤟🏼
6. If I say ‘plz fx’, how do you respond?
Lol already done.
7. Do you have a motto, or do you play the lotto?
“When life gives you lemonade, make lemons, life will be like “wait what?¿!!””
8. Continue the phrase: = VLOOKUP(
…is only used by people over 40.
9. How would you summarize the Cupole Culture in one sentence?
It’s a bit weird, super fun and a kind of crazy.
Thanks Johanna for taking the time to let us know a bit more about yourself! For our readers; Stay tuned for more from our Cupoleans!
*In case you haven’t heard about the Proust Questionnaire before; it has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature.
