We continue our introduction of our latest consultants from Cupole Academy 10! This time, we’ll get to know Axel a bit more who was one of our interns last year!
Hey Axel! It’s awesome to have you back at Cupole. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi! It’s great being back! Being a curious soul, I enjoy learning about almost anything and love to showcase my knowledge while playing Trivial Pursuit. Besides, I consider myself a huge music nerd with a steadily growing vinyl collection. Academically, I hold an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from Lund University.
Do you have any tips for someone applying for an internship with us?
The application process can initially seem daunting, and it certainly did for me. But here are my best tips:
- Be curious about Cupole and the projects we do. Make sure to highlight any skills or experiences that are relevant to the internship.
- Be prepared for what’s to come during the application process and make sure to practice beforehand.
- Be yourself: Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through in your application. It will rather make you stand out!
How would you describe your time as an intern at Cupole?
During my time at Cupole, I gained hands-on experience working on real management consultancy projects. This opportunity allowed me to finally lift the veil of mystery surrounding this field. The team was incredibly supportive and helped me grow both professionally and personally. Importantly, I was treated like a consultant, rather than an intern, most of the time.
I highly recommend that anyone interested in the field should pursue an internship to gain an understanding of what to expect from the daily work. Cupole stands out by striking a balance between intelligence and professionalism while maintaining a friendly approach.
Do you have anything specific you are looking forward to during your first year as a full-time Management Consultant at Cupole?
Aside from meeting new friends at the office while shredding paper, I am excited to learn a lot about interesting industries and get into the nitty gritty of data analysis!
Lastly, we’re all about discovering the hidden gems. Do you have a surprising talent or interest you’d like to share?
Perhaps uncommonly for someone in this field, I have an eye for graphic design and have previous experience working with it. I particularly enjoy good typography.
