This is Martin!
At Cupole, we’re a collective of great minds and big hearts. But instead of keeping that for ourselves, we want to give you a chance to read some more about our people and what they have to say about themselves and Cupole. Cupole Academy started this fall and Martin is one of the new Cupoleans who recently joined us.
Let’s get to know him!
Hi, Martin! How would you describe yourself?
Hi! My answer for this really depends on the day, but as for today, I am a rested happy young man living his dream of listening to Christmas songs every morning on my way to work. When I am not getting ready for the holiday or working, I balance spending countless of hours on Pinterest with trying to find the best restaurant in Stockholm.
What made you apply to Cupole Academy in the first place?
The management consulting industry is arguably very homogenous in many ways with a lot of players who, at least at first glance, seem to be very similar. However, Cupole stands out from the crowd with our company’s culture, knowledge development, and maybe most importantly – the people. For me, it was clear that if I would work in management consulting, it had to be at a place where I would develop quickly, feel valuable, and at a company that shared my work ethic values. Oh, and with work ethic values, I am not just referring to the stereotypical values such as hard work and high ambitions – but also a healthy long-term and sustainable working life. Cupole ticked all the boxes.
What were you looking forward to when starting at Cupole?
I am here to learn, so I was keen on being challenged in new settings, project areas, and industries that I had not previously been exposed to. In consulting you work in teams, so I was very excited to meet all the people here and enjoy time with them both in and outside work. So far, I am not disappointed.
How has the experience been so far?
The first few months have been intense but very rewarding. To go beyond the obvious, such as trying out new types of projects and meeting new people, I have been lucky enough to attend countless of fun events with the people here. I think i have one of the best jobs out there.
Planning on doing anything fun this winter?
Given the time, I am humble against the fact that it is rather difficult to make rock-solid plans. But since I spent last winter in London, experiencing my first national lockdown when meeting other people was prohibited, I am looking forward to being more free and spending time with my friends and family. Last but not least, to celebrate a proper Christmas (yes I have been decorating for the holiday since the beginning of November and there is no shame in doing so).
Finally, what is your advice to anyone that is interested in applying to Cupole Academy?
Do it! Cupole is a great company if you are interested in management consulting and the academy year provides you with all the necessary tools you will need to practice complex problem-solving. When you apply, make sure to assess the company as much as they assess you. Learn as much as you can about what makes Cupole unique and dare to ask all the questions you want answers to. Make the application process something fun and meaningful, it might just be your first interaction with your future job. I had a great experience with my application process for Cupole and it made me realize what to expect for my academy year. Once you are in, get ready to experience a pretty sharp learning curve and be out in projects quick!
Good luck!!
