For us, hiring is more about rigor than intuition. It’s a matter of being extremely thorough – blending scientific theory with, you guessed it, data collection to guide decision-making. But that doesn’t mean the interaction should be technocratic. We aim to provide every candidate with a professional and engaging experience when they interact with us. Our process is quite rigorous and includes the following components (though not necessarily in this order):

Your Application
We’ve done away with the cover letter altogether – allowing your experiences to speak for themselves. This saves you time from crafting generic applications and us from reading them—a clear win-win. Additionally, in the complex world of management consulting, we need more than a broad stroke to truly understand who you are and how you can help elevate Cupole to the next level.
Psychometric Test
The test results will offer us insights into you as a candidate that we can compare against our required capabilities for a junior consultant and intern. These tests gauge your personality and problem-solving abilities—two areas we know are important in the role of a management consultant.
Interviews
You can’t hire someone without conducting an interview, but you can choose how you interview them. Our interviews may differ from most, focusing less on what you’ve done and more on how you’ve done it. We’ll ask for numerous examples to better understand your work experience.
Assessment Day
A full day where you’ll be tasked with solving cases in various formats, both individually and in a group setting. These cases can be seen as glimpses into what working at Cupole is like.
Final Interview
To ensure that we’ve assessed you comprehensively and professionally, you’ll undergo a final interview with a partner you haven’t met yet. Just to double-check!

Our interviews are out of the ordinary, so that we can find extraordinary candidates
At Cupole, we take a unique approach to assessing candidates. Instead of the typical sit-down interviews, we prefer hands-on ‘case interviews’, that actually tell us something about you. This method allows us to get a greater sense of your potential, intuition and problem-solving skills in action, which is absolutely crucial for everyday challenges in the workplace.
A ‘case interview’ is intense and immersive, lasting 30-50 minutes, focusing on solving a real-world business problem. It’s an opportunity for you to demonstrate your ability to analyze, structure, and synthesize complex data. These scenarios, inspired by actual consulting projects, test your business acumen in diverse situations.
You might be tasked with challenges like reviving a brewing company’s declining profits, advising a sports retailer on launching a new sneaker line, or strategizing a public sector organization’s restructuring. Each case requires sifting through information, structuring it effectively, and devising a practical solution.
In these interviews, we assess your skills in information analysis, problem structuring, communication, and overall business insight. Starting strong and structuring your approach is crucial.
